A project well planned, is a project half done.
Our processIf you've never worked with a custom cabinet maker before, you probably have questions. What does the process actually look like? When do you pay? How long does it take? What if something doesn't look right?
This page answers all of that. At ANCA, clarity isn't a bonus — it's built into every step.
STEP 1: Project Inquiry
Start by filling out the Project Inquiry form at ancawoodworks.com/contact. Tell us about your space, what you're envisioning, and any details you already have — linear footage, style preferences, timeline, estimated funds range. The more you share upfront, the faster we can move.
Within a few business days, you'll receive a preliminary ballpark range based on your scope. No site visit required. No commitment. Just a starting point so you can determine whether custom fitted cabinetry makes sense for your project and budget.
What you get: A preliminary estimate based on your project details. What it costs: Nothing.
STEP 2: Consultation Call
A conversation, not a sales pitch. If the ballpark range works for you, the next step is a consultation call. This is a focused conversation — not a rushed walkthrough — where we dig into your project in detail. We'll talk about your space, how you use it, what's working and what isn't, your style preferences, and your timeline.
This is also where we determine whether ANCA is the right fit for your project. Not every project is the right fit — and we'd rather tell you that upfront than waste your time.
The consultation call is complimentary.
What you get: Clarity on fit, scope, and next steps. What it costs: Nothing.
STEP 3: Planning & Design Phase
This is where your project goes from idea to reality — on paper, before anything is built. If we're a good fit and you're ready to move forward, the next step is the Planning & Design Phase. This begins with a Planning & Design Deposit — typically 10% of the estimated project cost. This deposit does two things: it reserves your spot on the production schedule, and it funds the full design process.
Here's what the design phase includes:
On-site field measurements — Andres visits your space to take precise measurements.
3D renderings — You'll see a realistic, three-dimensional model of your cabinetry before anything is built. Layouts, finishes, door styles — all visualized so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
Elevation drawings — Technical drawings that document every dimension, component, and detail. These serve as the production blueprint.
Material and finish selections — We walk through material options together so every choice reflects your style and meets ANCA's standards.
Design meetings — in-person or virtual meetings to review drawings, work through selections, and refine the design before anything goes into production.
Firm project proposal — A complete document with the full scope of work, final pricing, payment schedule, and project timeline. No surprises.
Nothing goes into production until you've reviewed and approved everything.
What you get: 3D renderings, elevation drawings, material selections, and a firm proposal with final pricing.
What it costs: Planning & Design Deposit (typically 10% of estimated project cost)
STEP 4: Production
Your cabinetry is built to fit your space & lifestyle — not a catalog.Once the proposal is signed and the production deposit is received, fabrication begins. Every component is built in-house by Andres — the same person who designed it and will install it. No outsourcing, no handoffs.
Throughout production, you'll receive progress updates so you're never left wondering where your project stands. Lead times are communicated upfront and honored.
Typical production time for a standard kitchen: 6-8 weeks. Smaller projects like built-ins or closets may move faster. Timeline is established during the design phase and confirmed in the proposal.
What you get: Regular progress updates and a production timeline you can plan around. What it costs: Production deposit (typically 50% of the total project cost)
STEP 5: Delivery & Installation
The part where it all comes together.Installation day is not a surprise. By the time Andres arrives at your home, every component has already been built and checked for quality, and will be custom-fitted for your exact space. Installation is efficient, clean, and respectful of your home.
Every piece is scribed to your actual walls, floors, and ceilings — because no space is perfectly square or plumb. Scribing ensures your cabinetry looks like it was always there, with no visible gaps or filler strips.
Before leaving, every cabinet, drawer, and door is checked for quality, alignment, and function. If anything isn't right, it gets addressed on the spot — not scheduled for a return visit.
What you get: Cabinetry installed on schedule, checked for quality and fit. A finished space that looks exactly like the renderings you approved. What it costs: Remaining balance paid in two parts — 40% on delivery, 10% upon installation completion.
Payment terms are outlined in the project proposal and agreed upon before production begins. Why the Planning & Design Deposit matters
A free estimate tells you a number. The Planning & Design Phase tells you exactly what you're getting — and why.
Before a single cut is made, ANCA invests real time into your project: field measurements, 3D renderings, elevation drawings, material selections, and a firm proposal with final pricing. That process takes expertise, experience, and hours of focused work. The Planning & Design Deposit funds that work — and in doing so, it protects you.
It's what prevents the surprises, change orders, and "that's not what I meant" moments that derail projects and inflate costs. It's also what reserves your spot in the production schedule, so when the design is approved, production begins without delay.
A free estimate is a guess. The Planning & Design Phase is a plan.READY TO GET STARTED?
Whether you have a clear vision or just a space that needs to work better — the first step is a conversation.
