ANCA Woodworks is a custom cabinetry and woodworking studio based in Chattanooga, TN. We specialize in European style (frameless) custom fitted cabinetry — kitchens, built-ins, closets, home offices, media centers, record cabinets, LP vinyl storage, and spaces that don't fit the standard mold.

Every project is designed, fabricated, and installed by Andres Calderon — from first consultation to installation. For projects involving architects or interior designers, ANCA works directly from existing plans and specifications, integrating seamlessly into your design process. No shortcuts. When larger installs require an extra set of hands, ANCA brings in trusted, vetted help — never strangers, always people Andres knows and stands behind. Just one craftsman who puts his name on every piece he builds.

The Story

It started in 2017, not as a career plan, but as curiosity.

Andres was living in Austin, Texas and needed a part-time job. He called a close friend who was managing a high-end custom cabinet shop and asked if there were any openings.

He walked in knowing almost nothing. What he found was a craft built entirely on precision, process, and an obsession with getting things right.

The craft hooked him immediately. The attention to detail. The way a well-executed plan translated directly into a result you could see, touch, and live with for decades. He learned European cabinet construction, finishing, and — perhaps most critically — scribing: the art of fitting cabinetry perfectly to imperfect walls, floors, and spaces, with no shoemold to hide the gaps.

When Andres and his family relocated to Chattanooga for a change of pace, he found work at a local woodworking shop. Then the pandemic hit. When the world reopened, it came with a kind of clarity — and choices that needed to be made. He knew he held himself to standards that were hard to compromise on, and that he'd always be pushing to learn and grow. That clarity gave him the courage to go out on his own.

ANCA Woodworks became official in 2022, and the work and high standards have only grown from there.

The Work

ANCA builds custom kitchens, closets, built-ins, vanities, and one-of-a-kind pieces for clients who know what they want and aren't afraid to invest in it.

Our work and approach is rooted in and inspired by clean lines, no unnecessary ornamentation, and function that matches the form. Every case is constructed from furniture-grade materials. Every component is scribed to fit the actual space, not the plans. Every detail is considered before a single cut is made.

For the audiophiles — ANCA also designs and builds custom LP vinyl storage and record cabinets, built to the exact dimensions of your collection and the aesthetic of your space.

Beyond standard materials, ANCA works with a curated selection of innovative and premium surfaces — including ultra-matte, anti-fingerprint laminates and natural bio-based materials — for clients who want something that stands apart from what everyone else is doing.

This is not a volume business. Andres takes on a limited number of projects at a time so that each one receives the full weight of his attention.
